A question that would have brought about anxiety sometime back, today reflecting on my future… where I want to be in three years feels both exciting and challenging. Now that I feel more at peace with myself, this question inspires me to think big, with purpose, and optimism.
Reasons To Feel Excited About the Future:
1. Personal Growth and Relationships:
- Be at peace and sync with everything and everybody around me.
- Build a better resilience to handle life’s ups and downs gracefully.
- Build even stronger connections with family, friends and my community.
- Go on more bonding trips with loved ones!
- Volunteer at suicide helplines and animal shelters regularly.
- Finish all things on my list of pending things finally!
- Welcoming a little child into my world, where they’d grow up alongside my beloved cats, adding even more joy to my home.
2. Health:
- Hope to reach a weight that supports a diabetes-free, vibrant lifestyle.
- Stay dedicated to my daily routines!
- Go for early morning jogs for a much needed healthy dose of vitamin D.
- Join Swimming and Tennis classes.
- Develop a love for eating salads that’s as deep as my love for chips and chocolates.
- A balanced lifestyle that feels natural and sustainable.
3. Career:
- Hope for my company to land a contract with an IPL team and growing our team size to at least 50 people.
- Become the author of a best-selling book.
- Should have written and directed at least 10 plays and perhaps even be in the early stages of my first feature film.
- My Blog should have a strong, engaged following, reaching 10k fans who connect with my writing.
- And as a creative outlet, starting my own YouTube channel feels like a fun and challenging project to share my passions with a wider audience!
4. Finance:
- To enjoy the process of making money rather than driving myself relentlessly to earn and save more!
- I dream of owning a cozy home with a terrace garden and a walk-in closet.
- Own a farm land somewhere in the mountains with a cute cottage.
- Having enough financial freedom to donate regularly to charities.
- Have alternate sources of income from my writing and other creative areas.
- Invest in a few startup and innovative ideas.
5. Education:
- Hope to complete my graduation and embark on the journey toward a psychology degree.
- Reach Level 7 in Guitar and 3 in Piano.
- Learn Archery!
- Finish my AI course.
- Finish my art course.
Challenges:
1. While my vision of my future is clear, I know the biggest challenge would be to stay motivated and celebrate the small wins. In the past, setting larger-than-life goals has led to overwhelming anxiety, paralyzing me in the present. But I’ve come to realize that each small step matters — just like it takes many pixels to create a beautiful picture, each daily action contributes to the larger canvas of life. And larger the painting, the more patient I’ll need to be with myself.
2. Apart from the time and the hard work it would take to work on these goals consistently, there are the realities of life to navigate through…. Facing failures, Aging Parents and cats, loss of loved ones, health concerns, economic instability, etc…
So in three years time the biggest thing I would like to achieve is to look back at today and be proud of how far I’ve come — not just in terms of accomplishments, but in terms of the person I’m becoming. Though life will no doubt throw in its googlys, I hope I am enjoying having not just reached the goals but the entire roller coaster ride that these new challenges will throw at me in my future!
