They gave each other warmth on cold wintery nights
They weathered storms together
They hunted for prey together
They shared their meals
They had each others back
They were each other’s world
They were as close as close could be
They believed their pride ruled the jungles
Until…. the king of the pride died…
Their dreams turned into fears
Without the shelter, insecurities took hold
Each fighting to find their own place
Feeling suffocated by the very thing that held them together
For soon they moved on to form their own pride
Marking their own territories
Never to seek each other again
