A Journey Through Passions: How Life Led Me to Storytelling

I’ve been passionate about many things in my life—acting, cricket, music, painting, crochet, pottery, politics, food, family, photography, computer games, gardening, animals, movies, and probably more that didn’t make this long list. As a kid, what I wanted to be kept changing. If you can think of a career, I probably aspired to it at some point.

Life Had Other Plans

One thing I knew back then was that I’d never become a teacher; I used to feel dumb and stupid. What Knowledge could I possible share with others. Marketing also didn’t appeal to me since I was terrible at selling things. … No way could I do that for the rest of my life…. And writing…… Growing up, I struggled to finish most books—the first requirement to write is to read, read, read. There was no way I could consider writing as a career. But life had other plans. I ended up teaching for two years in my 20s, spent the last 15 years in advertising and marketing, and here I am, writing!

Story Telling

I always loved storytelling, a trait passed down from my grandmother, whose bedtime stories would soothe away all my daily tensions. In a way, I was storytelling even as a teacher and in marketing, sharing stories about others, historic events, brand narratives, and more. Now, I’ve reached a point in my life where I want to share my stories.

Why Story Telling Is My Passion

– Deeper Connection With Others

At its core, writing and content creation are about communication. They are tools to share ideas, tell stories, and express emotions. Whether through a blog post, a social media update, or a video script, the goal is to engage, inform, and inspire others. I dream of creating a community that fosters a sense of belonging, bridging gaps and creating shared experiences.

– The Power of Story Telling

Movies and Serials have had a profound impact on me. They made me laugh, cry, feel inspired, and, most importantly, dream…. I aspire to create content that addresses social issues in a light, funny way, much like Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s films or recent movies like “Rocky Aur Rani” or “Laapata Ladies.” These stories drive home their points in sight humour, with simplicity and ease, without being overtly righteous.

– The Creative Process

Creating content is both an art and a science. It requires creativity, empathy, and a deep understanding of the audience. It brings together the skills I learned while teaching and in marketing: researching, figuring out how best to present content to the audience, engaging the audience, and understanding their responses to create more relatable content.

The Journey Ahead

Starting on this new path of telling my stories is both exciting and nerve-wracking. I hope to create the kind of impact that others have had on me through their movies, podcasts, blogs, and books. The journey of connecting with others through storytelling is one I embrace wholeheartedly, and I look forward to every step of the way.

I enjoyed your story about the path that led you to storytelling. I think we all felt unable to be a teacher when we were young. And we were stupid! It’s all part of learning and growing. I wish I would have understood that when I was young. I do try to convey that to my kids and grandsons now.

I am a really bad storyteller, literarily my stories are so very to the point that and so short that I cannot engage in conversation for more than 2 minutes. I am actually considering enrolling to the course. That bad I am. Thanks for your article, it is a nice story.

Wow. A great piece of written content here. I as a person who works in the field of marketing understands the importance of creating content that will relate to the audience and that involves doing market research and finding data on what each person likes and does not like.

Passion makes is easy to do the job. If you are passionate about something you can achieve what you set on achieving. As long as you push through and follow your heart💖🙏
