Sometimes I feel trapped,

between my past and my future,

As life passes by,

with wounds still left unsutured.

I am neither living my life nor am I dead,

As fear and panic take over my body with dread.

All dreams seem lost and too far to achieve,

There’s nothing else to do but sob and grieve.

Whatever I have achieved so far in life,

seems so bleak,

Keeping it all to myself,

As I feel there’s no one to speak.

It’s not that I lack purpose or a dream…

I am just scared,

To come out of my comfort zone,

even if I am unprepared.

Fear is the friction between who I am

and who I want to be,

Taking the first step is the most difficult,

even though I know I will eventually feel free,

For then when I look around and see,

A lot of people struggling to mentor their dreams,

just like me.

  1. Such a beautiful poem. I think many of us can relate to the struggle between who we are and who we aspire to be. Fear can often hold us back from reaching our full potential, and it’s inspiring to see someone confront that fear head-on.

  2. I can relate to this 😄

  3. Wow! That poem does speak volumes and it’s short and sweet. It’s as your thoughts jumped off the screen and were laid at our feet. Their is so much truth about stepping out of our comfort zone, afraid of being alone, or being set free.
However, thanks for sharing such a beautiful poem. You are right, “A lot of people struggling to mentor their dreams,” Just like me.

  4. What a great poem! It’s so real and so relatable! I think we have all been there at some point and sometimes it can be so crippling. I am thankful to seek after God and replace my failures with his victories. By doing that, I can see who I truly want to become and I get to measure my success differently than this world has to offer.
