I have printed this quote on my visiting card to remind me everyday to not blame my situation or what’s happening around me.

It’s so easy to get into blaming other things for your cranky mood… you know my client was extra cranky, didn’t find a cab, didn’t get a seat in the train, my cat’s sick, I am worried about my parents’ health and so on and on and on…..
But in reality it’s how I am able to deal with things around me. I have found that even in the most difficult situation if I focus on the present and work on the task at hand rather than complaining and feeling victimized by the situation, I am able to think clearly and take a well balanced decision. If I focus on my fears too much, nothing except a panic attack comes out of it.
I have got through my father’s heart attack, putting one of my cats to sleep and so much more by keeping the focus on what is really needed from me in those situations. To be there for them. Not to focus on losing them but to actually be there for them, cause they needed me.
It’s all about taking charge of my life rather than just drifting along fearing what’s up ahead!
